Eloping in Palm Beach

Bjonda and Florent decided they didn’t want to wait any longer to be married so they eloped at the Palm Beach county courthouse! Talk about a couple in love! Although I know nothing about eloping in Palm Beach, I know a thing or two about photographing you eloping so keep reading to see some gorgeous photos and get some good tips!

The Courthouse in Palm Beach

I’m going to take you through the process of eloping in Palm Beach at the Courthouse from a photographers point of view. The couple booked an appointment, found me on instagram and flew me in to photograph their big day! Once inside, they had to swear an oath, sign some papers and pay their fee and then we were all moved into another room for the ceremony. It was simple, beautiful and they were full of smiles.

With them came their sister and her husband to witness and support them. After a few tears and so many hugs, we split off and started taking photos inside the courthouse. Everything takes place on the third floor so there are some really cool vantage points to take photos.

To start, the bride and groom were both in head to toe Yves Saint Laurent – from makeup to dress, to shoes, to suit! Once we utilized the 3rd floor, the escalators, all of the hallways and the elevator for photos, we moved outside. The outside of the courthouse is STUNNING. The architecture makes for some amazing photos and across the street there is another very “Florida-style” courthouse that just gives the best backdrop for some photos and bonus, it wasn’t busy on our day so we had it all to ourselves.

The Breakers Palm Beach

We packed up their cute puppy and started making our way to The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. To our disappointment we didn’t realize that we weren’t allowed to take photos on the property in front of the building for that ICONIC photo in front of their incredible building down their gorgeous drive. ALTHOUGH, as we made our way to the Worth Ave Clock Tower, we passed a golf course with wide open gates and decided to go take some photos. It wasn’t until we were driving away that I realized it was another entrance to the Breakers golf course! A whole set of cuddly, fun, and iconic golf course photos later, we were on our way to the clock tower.

Worth Ave Clock Tower

When you’re eloping in Palm Beach, you HAVE to stop at the clock tower. It’s a huge piece of history, so stunning and unique. You can see the ocean through the entrance underneath the tower and its really just so memorable- you HAVE to make a stop there whether you’re eloping in Palm Beach or just visiting.

Of course there will be a bunch of people around the tower but with a little bit of skill you can edit them out of the photos and have those private moments look private. We were there in October and the weather was PERFECT. The ocean was still warm, the day was breezy and the sky was a PERFECT display of just how amazing the light can be on the East coast during sunset.

We made our way to the beach for some more iconic portraits. Their puppy was loving the sand and they were loving each other. On the rock pile by the ocean, through the breeze and the waves crashing, Bjonda was honestly the exact look of grace and beauty as she modeled on the top of the rocks for some editorial style artistic portraits.

The End of The Day

As they drove off into the snset to attend their Elopement party, my time was done so I did what anyone living in Canada would do- I put on my swim suit and went for a swim in the ocean! The next morning i was back on my flight and on my way back home to my husband and kiddos. Never taking for granted the amazing experiences this job provides for me and the amazing people I get to meet all over! Go take a look at my last adventure in my Bianca and Brandon blog post! As always, give me a follow on Instagram @andreiadaniellephotos and show your love!

XOXO,

Andreia
